Meet Stacey
I am an experienced Occupational Therapist providing high-quality and evidence-based care for adults who have neurological conditions as a result of injury or disability.
After receiving my degree in Occupational Therapy in 2007 from the University of South Australia, I worked in various inpatient and community roles until I found my passion joining a highly experienced Allied Health team at Disability SA, providing assessments and therapy for adults living with cognitive, intellectual and physical disabilities in residential and community settings.
This role supported people across of spectrum of disability, from severe disability that required high level of formal care, to those who were living largely independently with a small amount of support. Interventions included prescription of complex assistive technology and home modifications to enable participants to live as independently and safely as a possible and rely less on others.
After 10 years at Disability SA, I was looking to broaden my skills and expertise beyond and had opportunity to join the Lifetime Support Authority (LSA). The LSA is a state-based injury scheme, supporting people with serious injuries as a result of motor vehicle accidents, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries and amputations. It was within these roles at the LSA that I refined my skills in understanding the importance of really knowing what is important to each individual participant to ensure a tailored rehab and recovery plan could be implemented, knowing that each person brings with them, their unique values and life experiences.
In 2024, Hey Stacey Occupational Therapy was established as a mobile Occupational Therapy service for adults living with disability or injury. This would be opportunity for me to return to working directly with participants and utilise my skills and experience to provide high quality assessments and therapy for adults with serious injuries and cognitive and physical impairments.
